Located just a little west of Corsicana, Texas, the ranch is owned and operated by David Hall and his
lovely partner Susan...who also happens to hold the title of 'Chief Cook & Bottle Washer' as well as
being the Ranch Foreman. But, no matter what titles Susan may acquire, she still manages to runs the
place with the strict West Texas ways that Buttons taught her.
We've worked hard and pride ourselves in having horses that are gentle, dependable and sturdy enough to put in a full days work. Here at the Rockin' B we
have Colonial Spanish horses, as well as a few American Quarter Horses for those people who just can't handle the thought of riding a good 'stang. Our
Spanish horses carry papers from such outstanding registries as the Southwest Spanish Mustang Association, Spanish Mustang Registry, Horse of the
Americas, as well as American Indian Horse Registry. We even keep a few of those 'Heinz 57's around for those of you who just don't like the idea of riding
these purebred critters...
Hey! Don't cut us short! Ain't no old plugs around here! Our working horses double as dude
horses. These aren't horses that just plod along, waiting for their time to go to the glue factory,
these are horses that are intelligent and have a personality. These horses will start off at a
competitive trail ride at seven in the morning, travel at a fast-paced walk for thirty-five to fifty
miles and be back before lunch. Several horses have been clocked at an average speed of 15
to 17 miles and hour.

Susan has two lovely daughters, Sharon and Chris (Chrissy) who are out busily making their marks on the world. Come to think of it, there's some of
those marks that ajax ain't even gonna be able to take off. :Snickers: Gotta love 'em tho, cause they're both tough as nails.
We are very proud to say that all hands here at the ranch help to break, train, and show the horses. For pics of how we've done at the shows, and
maybe even see a few of us dressed up for costume class, check out the links below. I'll put more pics online just as soon as I can....
Since 1944 Hobby Crafters has given as many as 10,000+ handmade wooden toys per year to less fortunate children in the greater Dallas area. Distributed
through missions and churches at Christmas, these toys allow the joy of the Christmas spirit to reach children who would otherwise wonder, 'Has Santa
forgotten me?' That's something that no child should endure. All the work at the 'Toy Shop' is done by volunteers. We have no paid employees of any kind,
just kind hearted people who want to make a difference, so please feel free to stop by and visit on Thursday evenings. If you can stay around til about eight,
and you can have some snacks with us at break time. Heck, if you can hold a board and trace around it, you too can be one of Santa's little elves at the
Hobby Crafters 'Toy Shop'.one of Santa's little elves at the Hobby Crafters 'Toy Shop'.
We're so proud of our horses! We're especially proud when we sell a horse, and the new
owner calls us to say that the horses have become a loving part of their lives. We just wish
that we could keep them all, but we have to let go of a few to make room for the babies that
come in the spring. Thank goodness our horses have all gone to good people and great
homes, so it makes the separation a little easier.
Well, I've got horses to ride and chores to get done, so why don't you wander over and pet the mares...they've been up at the barn waiting on some
scratchin' ever since they heard us talking. (Just please don't go telling the girls that they're fat, cause they ain't...they're just plus sized women).
Then again if you'd just like to take a gander at the horses that we have here at the ranch, please visit our RANCH HORSE
PAGE. There you'll find a list of all the horses that call the Rockin' B their home. Who knows, maybe you'll even recognize a
few of 'em. Then again, maybe you'd like to visit our RANCH SALE PAGE to see if your favorite horse is listed.....you just
might find that horse that you've always wanted at a price you can afford.
Yeah, I know. Santa's little elves and the toy shop idea have already been used, but we still lovingly call the
workers 'our little elves'. But seriously, the Hobby Crafters are pretty good at getting everything together and
having those toys ready in time for Christmas. Well, they should be good at it. They've only been doing it since
1944!
To find out more, please visit the Hobby Crafters Foundation website by clicking on these links, or the
Hobby Crafters' sign. They're a great group of people doing a great things for children. Please email Jerry if you
would like to know more, or you'd just like to comment on the website. He loves to hear what people think
about the site.
We're pleased to introduce
BRINGING HOME THE RIBBONS from the AIHR/HOA National Show
|
Only four horses were taken to represent the Rockin' B Ranch at the National Show in September, but the outcome was
breathtaking! Each one did their best for the results speak for themselves....
Big and colorful, the big gelding One Bud Wiser did his share of winning as well, bringing home the title of RESERVE
CHAMPION HALTER SENIOR BROKEN COLOR in halter, HOA GRAND CHAMPION SPEED HORSE and
RESERVE SENIOR ADULT end of show awards! He also did his part when he brought home several first place ribbons
(and a few others) in the speed events.
Her daughter, LIL'CAYENNE captured third in the Senior Adult Trail Class, brought home several blues in the speed
events as well as CHAMPION 'AA' FOAL HALTER (2 years and under), RESERVE GRAND CHAMPION
HALTER as well as GRAND CHAMPION 'AA' OVERALL title at the end of the show.
LIL BIT did her usual...lousy in halter and pleasure classes, but she made up for it in the last half of the show, placing
second in Adult Trail Class and first in most of the speed events. (Yeah, like we didn't see THAT coming) She was also
awarded the GRAND CHAMPION 'M' OVERALL title at the end of the show.
Although our big paint mare WHITE WING DOVE did her best, she didn't do as well as the rest of the crew, bringing home just a few ribbons. Somehow she just
doesn't seem the same since that guy 'borrowed' her and lost her in the Wieumiche Wilderness....in 180,000 wooded acres. But, then again, that's another story......

The first paint in the Tiger line, PAINTED TIGER is a handsome tobiano paint with a heart of gold. A bloodline that can't be beat, Tiger is by EL
TIGRE SEGUNDO (AIHR O-1431 / SMR 1567 / HOA 1007 / SSMA 1201 - by Tiger Eye (SMR-393 / HOA-SB185 / Bookcliff Foundation) X
Tamara Walker SMR 174) Tiger's dam is MEDICINE ZUNI (AIHR O-2605 /SSMA 1386) (Tomachichi - SMR 1760 / SSMA 1109 X Cache Creek
Zuni - SSMA 541).
Gentle enough that my grandchildren help feed and brush him, Tiger's an exceptional stallion. His smooth ride and quick learning are just some of the
features that he's been passing on to his offspring. We've never had a stallion before that sired foals that would actually come to YOU to be loved
on...starting when they are only a week old. Sounds strange? This isn't unusual for his little ones! Smart as a whip, I've had one colt saddle broke in one
day, then trail riding the next. Tiger has sired several fantastic foals for us and is producing color a little over fifty percent of the time. Of course, color is
more prominent with mares that also carry the paint gene.
Here are just a few of his foals:

STUD FEE FOR 2009: $300
Please remember that we have a ranch to run, so we can't keep these pages updated as fast as we'd like....so if somethings not
working, just give us a little time, 'cause we're working on it as fast as we can.
Specializing in horses that work calmly and gently while roping, running barrels, playdays or just trail riding, we're a family oriented business.
Established in 1964, we believe that a horse should work willingly, not be frightened of your every move. Doesn't matter whether they are Quarter
Horses, Paints or Colonial Spanish, our horses work calmly and gently. Ever ridden a barrel or competition horse that 'jigs' (jumps up and down with
excitement)? Well, our horses don't.
Don't believe me? Most people don't until they come and spend a few hours at our ranch. But let me warn you....sometimes it's more of petting zoo
than a ranch for the horses all want to be loved by anyone that comes along.
Originally founded in Paducah, Texas, the Rockin' B Ranch was established in 1964 by the late Robert "Buttons" Tuscana. Moving to Dallas in the early
80's, Buttons brought his ranch to this area. Now days, Susan stays busy working the ranch...keeping a promise that she made to that darn West Texan
husband of hers so very long ago. He may be gone, but her promise still holds true. Susan and her children will make sure that there will always be a
Rockin' B Ranch. After all, what good is a person if they can't keep their word?
