Gorgeous Flea Bitten Grey Mare
Registered as AIHR O-2735 / HOA 1627
{Broom X Blue (Tiger Eye X Ysabella)}
Standing 14 hands
Foaled: April 6th of 1997
A wonderful silver flea-bitten grey with a gorgeous head, baby doll eyes & black & silver in her mane and tail, a great little mare standing 14 hands tall at the shoulder,
Cheyenne is one of a kind. Born in April of 1997, Shy was originally purchased in 2000 to double as a brood mare & as an extra horse for the ranch, she has done it all.

Cheyenne is registered as CHEYENNE SUENO NINA (Cheyenne's Dream Girl) in the HOA & AIHR  Registries. At the age of four Shy graduated to the dude string & has
made more runs with greenhorns than we care to count. Certified by the State of Texas in 2001 to carry handicap riders, she did more than her share when the local
schools brought their special education & handicap classes to our ranch for their field trips. Sweet & gentle enough that she did not frighten the wheelchair children,
her baby doll eyes would convince the children that she meant them no harm, thus allowing them the chance to relax and become just a kid on a horse.

Shy has been around the family for years, has done play days, parades & local horse shows. Never tiring, never refusing, Shy is a real go-getter with a lot of WHOA. Her
wonderful gaits and gentle steps make you want to stay out riding all day long. A BEEN-THERE-DONE-THAT mare that will do anything for you. Best part is that because of
her extensive training, Shy would be a great mount for anyone from a beginner to an experienced rider. Basically if you can sit in the saddle, you can ride this mare.

A stout little mare that is easy to handle, Shy neck reins, catches in the pasture, halters & leads without effort. She will even try to put her nose in the halter for you. Shy
also loads nicely, stands tied quietly while being saddled, bridled & while being mounted, either with or without a mounting stool, then wait until you tell her that you are
ready to leave. She's even used to having little ones running in, out and around her legs. Basically nothing bothers this mare.

Sound, gentle and feet like iron, Shy would make a great riding mare, endurance, trail horse, play day horse, family horse, babysitter-of-a-horse or just a darn good brood
mare. Since both Cheyennes Sire (Broom) & her Dam (Blue) were known for their endurance, stamina and easy going ways, she can not help but be a fantastic mare.
There are not too many offspring of that great stallion Broom still around, so it is rare to find one for sale. Sometimes you might get lucky and find a grandchild or
great-grandchild of Broom, but it's not everyday that you find one of his offspring for sale.

A while back we took Shy & another mare out for an afternoon ride. Ended up riding down the side of the highway, across the long bridges with eighteen-wheelers
traveling only a cars width away, through the river bottoms, across creeks, down gravel roads and back onto the highway. Shy never had a problem with the ride. She
just slipped into that easygoing ground covering gait of hers and started stepping out. We ended up taking lunch at the cafe a little over nine miles away, then headed
back home when we were done. I know that it does not sound like much, but the person who rode Shy was my 70-year-old brother Bobby. I never worried about him for a
minute because he was riding Shy.

The only mark that Shy has on her body is a scar on her left shoulder from where she was pawed by an aggressive mare back in 2000. The mare had shoes on & left a
mark where the hair comes in darker than in the surrounding area. It healed just fine because it was a flesh wound, but it did leave a mark.

If you would like to see more pictures of Shy, please visit her personal web page at www.rockinbranch.net/Cheyenne.html
Once there you can also see pictures from a few years back when we someone asked about how gentle Shy really was so we put our old cow dog Boo on top of Shy and
had her ride around the pen. Boo controlled Shy by barking to go and pulling back on the reins to make Shy stop.

Please note that these pictures showing the Shy by herself are from last Spring. Since then my brother has been riding her at his place, so she's lost most of that
gorgeous mane. It will grow back just as luscious, it just isn't there right now.

An easy keeper that's even easier to ride, Shy would make a great horse for any rider of any degree of horsemanship.
Up to date on her shots, worming and trimmings.

see that she's all the greats rolled into one!

Earlier this year I had made arrangements for some horse trading with the new owners picking the horses up later this Summer.
However it seems that this Texas heat wave had a hand in the outcome so the trades were respectfully cancelled.
Now I've got more horses than I had planned on heading into winter with....so our loss is your gain.
I'm ready to make some deals! Let's see what we can do to can find these fine horses some new homes!
(To view more pictures of these horses and learn more about them, click on the horses' name or picture)
If you don't see anything that tickles your fancy, just give us a call...we might have something on hand that haven't been put on the sale list yet.
You never know, we might just have that special horse that you've been looking for!
The words 'OBO' or 'or best offer' next to the horses asking price means that we are not rock solid on this price and are open to negotiation.
Ya never know, Susan might just be in a horse dealin' mood!
CHANTILLY LACE "Lacy"

Stocky Red Roan Mare
Standing 15 ½ Hands
Foaled 2003 (8 yrs old)

Gorgeous as the day is long and built like a Mack Truck, she's a BIG girl. Lacy's definitely stout enough to do just about anything you'd want a horse to do. A gentle giant
with a lot of WHOA. I'm sure that Lacy's got the speed and energy to excel as a roping or ranch horse, but I've just never had the opportunity to try her out on anything. I
don't really need another horse, so she needs to find a new home.

Originally purchased by our ranch in the summer of 2009, Lacy went to a professional trainer friend of mine for little 45 day 'tune up'. Came back riding great. She was
neck reining, working off of leg cues, side passing and riding so nicely. Unfortunately our neighbor fell in love with Lacy so he ended up buying the mare from us. Sad
part is that the guy works out of town so she's been sitting in the pasture ever since. Working out of town and having no one to take care of his horse, Lacy came to
board at our place last April. Eventually I purchased the mare back from him.

Lacy catches, halters, leads and loads extremely easily. She also bathes and stands quietly for saddling, bridling, having her feet done as well as being groomed. Lacy's
actually quite a sweetheart and can be a real cookie hound if you choose to offer them as a treat. We are currently riding Lacy to refresh her training. She stands quietly
while you mount and even lets me get on with a mounting block. She moves nicely off of a light leg but is still a little rusty on the neck reining which I'm sure she will
pick back up again with a little practice.

Up to date on her shots and worming, Lacy also has a current coggins.

If you're really interested, make me an offer. Let's see what we can do.

*I have recently been restricted from riding because of physical reasons. So I will not be able to ride this mare as I had planned next season...so she needs to find a new
home soon before I just give up on selling her, load her up and take her to the horse sale*
