I'm sorry about the quality of the pictures but it was an overcast day when the pictures
were taken so his color doesn’t show up quite as well as I’d have liked. I did however
put in a picture from this last Spring showing Phantoms actual color as a reference.
The picture was taken on his birthday to mark how he looked as a yearling. It’s just
something that we like to do around here.

Phantom Tiger (son of Painted Tiger) but we have always called him 'Phantom'
or ‘Junior’.

With color and conformation coming from both his sire and dam, we chose to
pull the names of the Grandsires and came up with Phantom (his Momma’s
Sire) and Tiger (his Daddy’s line), thus combining the best of both worlds. I
know that he gets his willingness to please from both sides of the family but
that ‘sweeter than sugar’ attitude has come from all the handling he’s gotten
since birth. (Personally I think that my brother Bobby has been sneaking him
too many horse cookies again)

Foaled on March 23rd of 2010, Phantom Tiger’s a handsome lineback dun
gelding with primitive markings, spider webbing on his legs, black going high
up on his legs, four white stockings and four black feet that are tough as
nails. Standing almost 14 hands tall, Phantom will grow to be between 14 ½
and 15 hands tall just like his brothers and sisters. Right now he is in the
middle of a growing spurt because his ass is taller than his shoulders.

Now for the good part: Phantom catches, halters, leads and loads in a trailer
easily. He stands tied quietly for bathing, fly spraying, brushing and hoof
trimming. Phantom has been taught to flex at the poll, flex around to the hip,
side pass from the ground, release at the hip and swivel on the rear and do
all of this under halter. He also lunges on a line or in a round pen. Junior has
excellent manners, has already been blanketed with a winter blanket,
saddled, bridled and can be handled by literally anyone who can carry the
lead rope. He will even help you put his head in the halter when you go to
catch him.

I had decided to make a gelding out of this boy last spring when I made a
change to my breeding program. At that time my brother fell in love with
Phantom so I let him have the colt. Unfortunately hard times have hit so the
colt was brought back to me so now I can find him a home. Phantom’s been
staying at Bobby’s house since last March so he’s missing some of his mane,
but they have been keeping up on his round pen work so he’ll definitely be
ready to climb on once he’s of age.

We have done basically everything to get Phantom ready so when the time
comes we can just climb right up on him and basically take off riding. So,
whether you want to train one yourself or have someone else do the training
for you, Phantom is ready to be someone’s best horse ever.

I know that you’ll love riding him for I have enjoyed riding both his Sire and
Dam for years. The smooth riding and fantastic trot and lope that they both
have are what I was breeding for in the first place! Honestly, if I had room this
boy would not be leaving. But right now I just don’t have room for another
horse, let alone a gelding.

Phantom is caring, inquisitive, intelligent and he’s easily taught. He enjoys
learning new things and seems happiest when he’s trying to figure out what
you’re doing and what you want of him. Also once he’s learned something he’
s got it. Phantom’s not going to forget it in a week then totally ignore you at
the next lesson like you’re speaking French to him. He remembers his
lessons well even after weeks of standing around in the pasture.
