Northern Song
(AIHR#O-2727)

2002 National Color Champion

Great attitude, stout build, good feet, as well as fantastic conformation - this stallion's got it all! Northern Song (aka - Cajun) is a beautiful creamy buckskin stallion with cream overlay and black mane and tail. (some call him a silver dun) The most striking part is the contrast of the light buttermilk cream in contrast with the black stockings that go well up past his knees.

Ever willing, always patient, Cajun has an amazing bond with his owner, Susan. He'll do anything for that lady. Before he turned three, Susan had her eight year old nephew riding him. There was even an article written it in the Spring 2000 Edition of the American Indian Horse News. To read the Article about Trey and Cajun Click HERE

Nibbling and loving on the mares, Cajun's a real cassanova. Our older mares have taught him that ten minutes of sweet-talking will get you a mare that's a more cooperative companion. And believe it or not, they seem to really enjoy the extra attention that he gives 'em.

Well, whatever he does, he does it right, cause he's been producing duns of all sorts. In fact, so far he's thrown the dun factor 100% of the time. One of his fillies is a palomino with dun markings...now go figure that one out.

Bareback class with David Frey

Cajun has been a winner ever since he first walked in the show ring. His latest achievement was at the 2002 AIHR Nationals where he won National Color Champion as well as Reserve Champion "O" and Reserve Champion Adult. (Yeah Cajun!) I'd list more of his winnings, but that would be a little too much...(but if you're interested I'll send you his list of winnings)

At this time I would like to thank David Frey for his help at the 2002 AIHR National show He rode and showed Cajun, as I couldn't ride the bareback class. Thanks a ton David!

Foaled on April 8th, of 1996, Northern Song (AKA "Cajun") is by El Tigre Segundo (AIHR O-1431, SMR) a golden colored lineback dun with beautiful golden eyes (out of Tiger Eye by Tamara Walker) out of Kiowa Windsong (AIHR O-811), a palomino paint with lots of heart (out of Rio Grande Lightning by Kiowa Morning Song - the dam of such champions as White Wing Dove and No Myth). Both his sire and dam are easy riders, sweet tempered and tough as nails.

Please feel free to wander through the ranch and see some of Cajun's foals. You'll find them in the weanling pen, along with the yearlings. If you're interested in having a mare bred, bookings are currently being accepted for the upcoming breeding season.
