| LIL BIT (AKA: Bit) (AIHR M - 1966 / AQHA) |
Foaled April 3rd of 1982, 'Bit' is by Mr. Mac (AQHA) out of Trixie Ness (AQHA). Bit is a beautiful lineback dun
with spider webbing. During her first few years with the AIHR she was awarded with the AIHR Hall of Fame
Award (1996) and the Supreme Hall of Fame Award (1997). (Supreme Hall of Fame is awarded to horses
acquiring 2,000 show points) points that she received from those few shows. She also doubles as a Dude horse
when we have visitors here at the ranch. She’s calm enough for beginners, yet she can turn on a dime. Most
dudes say that she has power steering 'cause she neck reins wonderfully!
We tried to retire Lil' Bit from competition, but she just wasn't happy sitting around with the brood mares,
watching the babies play. Unless, of course, some dudes happen to drop by and decide to ride. Bit is always one of
the first to be picked for the dude string, and she doesn't mind at all. She really seems to enjoys going riding ....
crossing creeks, meandering thru the meadows....and maybe getting to stretch her legs every now and then while
enjoying a nice lope.
A LITTLE HISTORY OF LIL BIT:
2005 was a great year for Lil Bit gave us a fantastic little filly by the name of Lil Cayenne. Born a bay, she’s
slowly turning into a red roan! This great little mare did her first show after being under saddle less than 20
times…not only that, but she brought home ribbons from the National Show!
In February of 2006 Lil Bit gave us a fantastic little colt that we called Lil Chipotle. A really DEEP bay with
primitive markings, he's quite a sight! At the age of two he measured 14.2 hands - the same size as his sire
Painted Tiger. Sweet and gentle, he sure got the best of both lines...then again, don't all of Lil Bit's babies?
Lil Bit has been going to the rendezvous (historical reenactments) with Susan and the rest of the crew from the
Rockin’ B Ranch. Once there, she is often visited by the reenactors who come bearing gifts such as apples, horse
cookies...or even a slice of bread. Then comes the FUN part! We get to play real life 'cowboy's and indians'....or
maybe get to take a few captives while participating in an real indian raid! Altho Susan does get a little upset when
she comes back to camp only to find that her horses have been snatched....or better yet, drafted for some kind of
mischief. All is well once the ‘ladies’ (the horses) are fed and settled in for the night.
When 2009 came around, I guess that Lil Bit decided that she had to do it once again! On March 23rd, she gave us
a beautiful line back dun colt that was duly named ICE MAN! The story behind his name (not to mention his
arrival) is utterly astounding. Lil Bit actual found away to communicate with Susan...well, I don't want to let the

gorgeous deep, dark black white stunning white overo paint that's registered in the American Paint Horse and
American Pinto Horse Associations. I figured if we're gonna get one more little one outta the old girl, might as well
shoot for color to go with her speed!
