CHANTILLY LACE "Lacy"
Stocky Red Roan Mare
Standing 15 ½ Hands
Foaled 2003 (8 yrs old)
Gorgeous as the day is long and built like a Mack Truck, she's a BIG girl. Lacy's definitely stout enough
to do just about anything you'd want a horse to do. A gentle giant with a lot of WHOA. I'm sure that
Lacy's got the speed and energy to excel as a roping or ranch horse, but I've just never had the
opportunity to try her out on anything. I don't really need another horse, so she needs to find a new
home.
Originally purchased by our ranch in the summer of 2009, Lacy went to a professional trainer friend of
mine for little 45 day 'tune up'. Came back riding great. She was neck reining, working off of leg cues,
side passing and riding so nicely. Unfortunately our neighbor fell in love with Lacy so he ended up
buying the mare from us. Sad part is that the guy works out of town so she's been sitting in the pasture
ever since. Working out of town and having no one to take care of his horse, Lacy came to board at our
place last April. Eventually I purchased the mare back from him.
Lacy catches, halters, leads and loads extremely easily. She also bathes and stands quietly for
saddling, bridling, having her feet done as well as being groomed. Lacy's actually quite a sweetheart
and can be a real cookie hound if you choose to offer them as a treat. We are currently riding Lacy to
refresh her training. She stands quietly while you mount and even lets me get on with a mounting block.
She moves nicely off of a light leg but is still a little rusty on the neck reining which I'm sure she will pick
back up again with a little practice.
Up to date on her shots and worming, Lacy also has a current coggins.
