Lecture & Demonstration
Demonstrations by Susan Tuscana-Hall & Holly O'Connor-Swirline
Horses used for demonstration: Lil Bit and White Wing Dove
Overnight camp...one of the pains of lecturing
Late night visitors ask lots of questions about the horses.
Bit assures him that it's alright...she's not going to hurt him
Never having seen a real horse before, this gentleman's a little leary
Dove & Holly take their turn at teaching an exchange student about America's First Horse
Holly helps the little one get close and pet Dove
Lil Bit shows the gear of a indian calvary scout
White Wing Dove waits her turn to represent our horses
Reward for a job well done
Ready with questions, students hang around after the lecture just to talk
Ashes fill the firepit after a night of visitors
Holly takes a break
Dressed in full regalia, White Wing Dove waits patiently for her turn to represent
the American Indian Horses and the Horses of the Americas.
Tacked out as a calvary scouts' mount, Lil Bit watches while Susan starts her lecture.
Taking a break between lecture sessions, we get a chance to talk to the group casually
about the horses and their registries.
Cautious because of their size, we encourage an exchange student to
engage in a little conversation with Lil Bit.
Lil Bit neighs for more please...
After only a few moments, his little one is petting Lil Bit as well.
Leave it to 'Lovey Dovey' and Holly to help people relax around the horses
while they hear facts about the breed.
Holly ends up holding the little one while he pets Dove....and his family
gets pictures of his mile wide grin from his first encounter with horses.
Feeding time ~ A reward for a job well done....
Lil Bit neighs...asking for more.
Yeah, like THAT'S something new....
Early morning lectures and lots of gear mean setting up the evening before and
spending the night on the college campus grounds.

(You should have seen the looks on the security guards faces the first time they
saw us all set up in camp with a campfire roaring for warmth)
Overnight camping means visitors at all hours of the night asking questions about the horses.
Needless to say, we didn't get much sleep that night.
Remnants of a night well spend talking about America's First Horse.
Holly relaxes a little between lectures.
